ANDES COMMUNITY DAY 2026 – September 2026

Staff Report

We gloried in perfect weather for our August 1st Community Day events. The fabulous parade included 7 fire departments, classic cars and tractors galore, and more than a dozen eye-catching floats. The Andes Garden Club took honors with four garden-themed floats. Other beautiful and elaborate floats were from the Andes Library, Bovina Montessori School, Saint James Church, TAB Construction of Andes, Wayside Cider, Gladstone Farms and Merry Breeze Dairy. The Lake Delaware Boys Camp (started by Robert Livingston Gerry in 1909) Drum and Bugle Corps once again amazed and delighted the crowds with their skill and precision. Gordie Krick, former ACS teacher and school board member, was Grand Marshal for the parade. A host of events and games, food concessions and stands dotted the community. The dog contest, held on Library grounds, was both heartwarming and hilarious.~
