ANOTHER SPRING, ANOTHER LITTER PICKUP!–APRIL 2026

By Ann Roberti

Another Winter is nearing its end. Soon the big piles of snow will be gone and the roads will again show us their accumulation of litter.  Once again, a small but growing group of dedicated volunteers will be out cleaning roads in Andes. We’d love to have more help!

It is a lovely way to give back to our amazing community, meet some new Andeans and have a great sense of accomplishment. Surprisingly, it is actually fun.  Join us! Andes Litter Pickup Days 2026 will be Wednesday, April 22nd with a rain date of the Wednesday, April 29th and Saturday, April 26th with a rain date of Sunday, May 2nd.

We’ll meet at 9 am at the former Andes General Store. Bring/wear work gloves, sturdy footwear, your own car, a pack to carry your bags and water, and any “reacher” tools you might have. We do have some to lend. Wear a bright shirt or jacket or orange vest. We’ll also have yellow vests for those who don’t have their own.

As they have for many years now, Andes Dragonfly Diner is generously offering pickup participants a free breakfast or lunch including regular coffee or tea. We really appreciate our local businesses supporting our efforts!

A get together for the pickup participants will be held at the Andes Hotel one evening the following week

(details to come).

Please RSVP to Ann if you can come and help – aroberti@catskill.net. Don’t hesitate to email, or call Ann at 845-676-3643 if you have any questions. ~
