CAFÉ MUTSI SUPPORTED FOR LIQUOR LICENSE BOARD PASSES VARIANCE TO ALLOW POTENTIAL CELL TOWER – April 2024

By Peter Calvert

Town of Andes Board Meeting Summary, March 12, 2024.

Privilege of the Floor: Regul Koopman, co-owner of Cafe Mutsi (at the site of former Two Old Tarts) received support for the Café’s liquor license application from the Town Board. They are waiting NY State approval and plan for a month of May opening in Andes.

Supervisor’s Report: Bud Gladstone presented an update on a potential Cell Tower installation on elevated Town land near the Cemetery above High Street. The Town would need to waive current setback regulations of a 650-foot setback from neighbors for which they have town exemption for this type of project. The variance was thus approved. Heather Bauer was hired as assistant to Tina Moshier, Town Assessor, for a six-month period. Joanne Callahan was reappointed to the Planning Board for three years. Harvey Morse had his reappointment to the Board of Assessment Review approved.

The Code Enforcement Officer and The Highway Superintendent and his Department were all busy at their tasks the past month. Bids for future Town needs were approved. Warrants and Bills were approved.~
