A subtle but lovely new experience— I can only imagine delivered by a warming planet. This morning I was greeted by a hundred silky spider threads hanging from a tree, each gently blowing in the wind and covered with snowflakes.
This odd pairing reminded me of when I drove a friend (then in his 90s, now deceased) to the eye doctor in Oneonta. He was quite upset, for he was a painter and losing his vision. I was trying to calm him. I pointed out that he was probably the only person in the history of the world—past and future—who was a heavy weight boxer AND went to Julliard. Spider silk and snowflakes, boxer and Julliard. A beautiful surprising complex world.~
