GLADSTONE APPOINTS COUNCILMAN RITCHIE GABRIEL AS NEW DEPUTY SUPERVISOR COSTUMED HALLOWEEN TRICK OR TREATING IN THE HAMLET ON 10/31 – November 2023

Town of Andes Board, October 10, 7 pm
  Present: Supervisor Bud Gladstone. Councilmen Ritchie Gabriel, Thomas Hall, (Dale Cole, Excused). Town Clerk Carol Ames, Highway Superintendent John Bouton, (Code Enforcement Office Al Mohr, Excused).

In the Town Hall:  Mark Pezzati, Peter Ames, Eric Van Benschoten, Jason Frank, Vinny Lopez, Elizabeth DeFalco, The Reporter; Peter Calvert, Andes Gazette.

Zoom: Betsy Ellsworth, Sherry.

   Public Hearing: 10% proposed property tax exemption for qualifying members of town volunteers who are Firefighters and Ambulance workers. No dissenting voices in the room. Proposal tabled to future meeting pending quorum in the room. Ritchie Gabriel is a volunteer and as he cannot vote on his own monetary exemption, he recused himself from voting on the proposal.

Supervisor’s Report: Bud announced Ritchie Gabriel as the new Deputy Supervisor. An election for the open Council seat is scheduled in November. Halloween Trick or Treating approved from 5 pm-8:30 pm in the Hamlet on 10/31. All the proposed bids were approved. 2024 Budget Public Hearing and Town Board Meeting will take place Thursday, November 9, at 7 pm.

Highway Department: Many roads were worked on as they are being prepared for winter plowing. A new employee was hired. Vehicles were repaired as well.

Town Code Enforcement: 3 C of O’s and 2 Renewals were issued by the CEO. He did 2 Municipal Searches, 4 Compliances, 3 Violations, 3 Complaints, and 17 Inspections. CEO also received 43 Cell Phone Calls, 24 Text Messages, 21 Office Calls, and had 4 in-office conferences and 3 on-site meetings.~
