HUNTING TAVERN MUSEUM PROGRAMS DURING AUGUST – August 2023

August 12, 2023: Community Day Brats and Beer at the Hunting Tavern Join neighbors and friends at the Hunting Tavern Museum, 288 Upper Main Street from 11- 3 pm for lunch with outdoor seating. Bratwurst, hot dogs, sauerkraut, potato salad and cold drinks are available. Have lunch and take a tour of the Museum! Enjoy the fabulous postcard exhibit, Real-Photo Postcards of Andes, 1900 – 1930 (Showing until October).

August 27, 2023: Presented by William Abranowicz Sunday 2 pm History is an ever-present catalyst in the photographic projects of Margaretville resident William Abranowicz, whether the topic is the environment, social issues or how we live.

William will present a selection of work from a 50- year career as a photographer and his newest book, Country Life: Homes of the Catskill Mountains and Hudson Valley. It includes images of the domestic lives of creatives in the Catskills and Hudson Valley. A book signing will follow with all sales benefiting the Andes Society for History and Culture.

July 8 – October 14: “Wish You Were Here, Real Photo Postcards of Andes” From 1900 to 1935, professional and amateur photographers turned their cameras to local scenes and had them printed as postcards.~
