BEAUTIFUL DREAMER, WAKE FROM THE DREAM
By Pamela West-Finkle
Now brown, was green—you know what I mean
Every leaf is turnin’
Every heart is burnin’
Desperate yearnin’ for a little clarity
And a little sanity.
Come up here where it’s clear and sing with me.
Beautiful Dreamer, wake from the dream.
It’s black, it’s white—from day to dark of night
I don’t know what to say
Every shade of gray is a world away
from the Light Bright in our child sight.
Come up here where it’s clear and sing with me.
Beautiful Dreamer, wake from the dream.
From clear to red—blood rushes to our heads
This crazy world is tipping, and our feet are tripping
Hands are slipping from the holds we thought we had
To keep from going mad.
Come up here where it’s clear and sing with me.
Beautiful Dreamer, wake from the dream.~
