Town of Andes Board, November 10th 2022
Privilege of the floor: The MARK Project’s Interim Director Peg Ellsworth made a presentation. She recommended that a construction assistance Restore New York Communities Initiative Grant be sought in conjunction with the Town through the MARK Project. These projects can range up to 2 million dollars for large-scale construction. A possible project the Board discussed is the Old Town Garage that is being remodeled for re-use by TAB Construction. The Board will evaluate that project and other potential projects as the application deadlines are approaching rapidly.
Budget: Followed a Public Hearing that had no community comments. Town 2023 Budget was approved. The tax increase will be 1.90% which is below the 2% tax cap. Total budget is $2,260,030. The bids for snow removal, gas, and oil contracts were also approved.
Highway Report: by John Bouton, The Highway Department acquired a new truck, a 2017 Ford F550 with Plow Wing and Slide-in Sander for $55,000 from Town of Kortright. Road crew also cleared out beaver dams on Wolf Hollow Road.~
