November 17, 1923 – Ku Klux Klan active on Election Night!

If nothing else, it’s a reminder to us that the past was not all rosy!~

   There was a large vote out in Bovina last week. Wallace Smith was elected supervisor over Thomas C. Strangeway, the present incumbent, by 28 majority.

   Members of the Ku Klux Klan were active in Andes Election night, erecting a large cross on the hill back of the D. & N. railroad station and setting fire to it at about 8:30 o’clock.
