Cannabis Local Law: A sample cannabis local law was forwarded to the Town from the Delaware County Sheriffs Office. If the Town wishes to opt out of allowing retail cannabis dispensaries and/or on-site cannabis consumption establishments from locating within the Town, they must do so by December of this year. They would not be able to opt out in the future if they do not act. However, if the board acts to opt out, they can reverse that decision in the future. The Board took no action on this request from the Sheriff at this time.
John Bouton, Highway Report:
Highway team has been active at fixing roads and clearing brush along roads. He is looking into future needs for highway equipment for the town. Al Mohr, CEO issued 10 permits, completed 33 inspections, and conducted 3 title searches.
Supervisor’s Report: The Streetscape Committee reported the
clock is roughly five to six weeks out and committee is looking to repaint the benches in Town and potentially add more benches and plant more trees.
Community Day: The Town of Andes is planning on having Community Day this year on Saturday August 14th, 2021. It may not be like it was in the past. As of now, a parade is planned and there will be vendors around town.
Commercial Tent Campsites & Transient Rental Regulations: The board needs to conduct further discussion on this matter. Motion was carried to table the discussion on Commercial Tent Campsites and Transient Rental Regulations until a full board is present.
Federal Stimulus Funds: The Town Clerk’s Office has submitted the required documentation to NYS requesting the ARPA funds, which will total $121,861 if approved.
