During “Privilege of the floor” Tom Suozzi of Cedarwood Engineering Services presented a proposal to try to clean the town well near the Andes Rural Cemetery of higher than acceptable levels of sulfide. The presentation was followed by a motion to approve the plan and use funds currently in the grant to pay for it.
Supervisor’s Report: Bud Gladstone requested through the Blue Wing Services Firm that AT&T and Verizon get mobile service to the Andes cell tower. The General Store waterline break was repaired October 22. On Election Day, Tom Joyce and Kim Tosi made sure masks and hand sanitizer were available. HEAP (Home Energy Assistance Program) can help residents to heat their homes this winter. Please contact Delaware County Social Services or Delaware Opportunities. Covid-19 cases are rising and all citizens are asked to take safety precautions recommended by health guidelines. Sarah Blakley-Cartwright & Nicholas Party and Karen & Joseph Mazurek made generous donations to Ballantine Park.
Prior to the meeting, a Public Hearing was held on the following 2021 Budgets: Town, Water District, and Sewer District. No comments were raised during the public hearing. During the Board Meeting, the 2021 Budgets were approved. Town Board signed the new Vision and Dental Benefits plan provided to town highway union employees on the union contract.
Highway Report: Men have been ditching roads, touching up roads, clearing downed trees, and mowing along the sides of roads while the equipment has been prepped for winter. And the first two plow days of the season came October 30th and November 2nd. ~
