On Friday, December 6th we hosted our Annual Senior Citizen’s Christmas Dinner. Many Andes residents over the age of 55 joined us for a wonderful turkey dinner prepared by Mrs. Laurie Day and her cafeteria staff Julie Nelson and Angela Davila-Maxwell. Mrs. Kathy Whittaker organized students to greet and serve our visitors while Ms. Elaine Smith and our elementary music students entertained everyone with some Christmas music. We always enjoy being able to give back to our senior citizens for their support throughout the year and hope that they all enjoyed the afternoon as well.

On Thursday, December 12th our students performed their annual Winter Concert under the direction of our music director, Ms. Kellie Daino. Students from grades 2-12 participated in a wonderful holiday program.

On November 22nd & 23rd, Britney Davila attended the Area All-State Music Festival. In order to participate, students perform solos at NYSSMA. Students who receive the best scores on the highest levels of NYSSMA solos are selected to participate in Area-All State. Students from all over Zone 8 of New York then come together and perform in large ensembles.

Mr. Andrew Amodeo, our Academic Team advisor, is preparing our academic team for their competition on Tuesday, January 7th. This year’s team consists of Britney Davila, Lea Edelson, Mazzy Williams, and Emily Andersen. They will compete against schools from Delaware, Chenango, and Otsego counties.

Everyone at ACS would like to wish you all a very happy New Year and hope that 2020 brings good health and happiness to you all.  Kindly know that school will be in session again on Monday, January 6th.

On Thursday, January 9th, there will be a Public Hearing to provide information on the use of Fund Balance money to finish the initial phase of the building project by completing the installation of the new windows.  On Tuesday, January 14th there will be an opportunity to vote from 2 pm until 8 pm to allow the district to increase the Capital Project Budget by use of Fund Balance; this, in turn, will allow the District to receive approximately $80,000
