On Friday, December 6th we hosted our Annual Senior Citizen’s Christmas Dinner. Many Andes residents over the age of 55 joined us for a wonderful turkey dinner prepared by Mrs. Laurie Day and her cafeteria staff Julie Nelson and Angela Davila-Maxwell. Mrs. Kathy Whittaker organized students to greet and serve our visitors while Ms. Elaine Smith and our elementary music students entertained everyone with some Christmas music. We always enjoy being able to give back to our senior citizens for their support throughout the year and hope that they all enjoyed the afternoon as well.
On Thursday, December 12th our students performed their annual Winter Concert under the direction of our music director, Ms. Kellie Daino. Students from grades 2-12 participated in a wonderful holiday program.
On November 22nd & 23rd, Britney Davila attended the Area All-State Music Festival. In order to participate, students perform solos at NYSSMA. Students who receive the best scores on the highest levels of NYSSMA solos are selected to participate in Area-All State. Students from all over Zone 8 of New York then come together and perform in large ensembles.
