On November 8th & 9th our Andes Central School Drama Club presented the musical The Lion King, Jr. Andes is extremely lucky and proud to have many very talented students as well as many staff and community members who are willing to give up so much of their own time and talents. A huge thank you goes to Elaine Smith, John Bernhardt, Kellie Daino and Lisa Valkavich for all the time that they gave to direct this amazing performance. Also, a huge thank you to Sharon Tucker and her art classes, who were responsible for most of the props and costumes.
On Friday, November 15th, Andes Central School took a school-wide field trip to NYC to see Radio City Music Hall’s Christmas Spectacular. This trip was made possible by Federal grants. Thank you to Mrs. Sharon Tucker for all her hard work in making this trip possible and to the ACS PTSA for providing snacks for the long bus ride. As always, we stopped at the Mid-Hudson Buffet on the way home for dinner. It was an amazing day!!!
We were very honored to be able to host some of our Andes Veterans for a luncheon and entertainment on Friday, November 8th. It was a privilege to be able to recognize them for their service to our country.
We will once again be hosting our Andes senior citizens for a holiday dinner on Friday, December 6 at 1 pm for any Andes resident age 55 or older. This is a way for us to show our appreciation for all of your support through the years and the entire school looks forward to this day. If you would like to attend the dinner, please call the school and leave us your name so we can be sure and prepare enough food.
Our music department will be presenting their winter concert on Thursday, December 12th 7 pm.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a wonderful holiday season! Enjoy your time with family and friends.~
