Our doors opened on Wednesday, September 4, for the 2019-20 school year seamlessly and with great excitement.
On October 3rd, we will be hosting our tenth annual “Evening of Excellence” to honor students who maintained an average of 90%+ during the entire 2018-19 school year.
Be aware that school will be closed on Monday, October 14th to celebrate Columbus Day. School will also be closed on Friday, October 11th for a conference day for faculty and staff. Andes will be completing its practice Emergency Evacuation Drill (leave 15 minutes early) on Friday, October 25th.
Our Fall Open House will be held on Thursday, October 10th from 6:30 – 8 pm. We are also, again, planning a Veteran’s Day celebration on Friday, November 8th. More information will be coming soon.
The week of October 21st – 25th has been designated as New York State School Board Recognition Week. We would like to take this opportunity to thank those community members who are currently serving on our Board of Education, as well as those who have served in the past. Thank you for the time and dedication you give to the children of Andes.
Lastly, on November 8th & 9th, our Drama Club is planning to present its fall show of “The Lion King.” Rehearsals have started and will continue through the coming weeks. We hope you will come enjoy the show.
Our annual Senior Citizen dinner is scheduled for Friday, December 6th at 1 pm. We always look forward to seeing our Andes Senior Citizens and being able to thank them for all their support throughout the years.
We are looking forward to another successful school year at Andes Central School and hope to see you at many of the events we host this year.~
