MOUNTAINEER TRACKS — September 2019

By Robert L. Chakar, Jr., Ed.D., Superintendent

ACS will open its doors to students for the 2019-20 school year on Wednesday, September 4th. Faculty and staff will report on Tuesday, September 3rd for a Conference Day.

ACS turns over a new slate!

Work on the Capital Building project has progressed this summer.  As you can see from the outside, the new slate is going up on the roof.  On the inside, a lot of work is taking place: replacing bathrooms, univents, boilers and much of the other work called for in the scope of the project.

We will be hosting our eleventh annual “Evening of Excellence” on Thursday, October 3rd, to honor students who maintained an average of 90.0% or higher during the four quarters of the 2018-19 school year.  This is always a wonderful evening of celebrating these students and their academic accomplishments from the previous school year.

The Drama Club is planning to present The Lion King in early November.  Rehearsals will be starting shortly after school begins.  Please look for more information as we move closer to the production dates.  Our school has once again merged with South Kortright Central School for our fall soccer and golf; all the students continue to do very well.

We are looking forward to another successful school year at Andes Central School and hope to see you at many of the events hosted here.~
