In order to support the upcoming Town’s Bicentennial, the Andes Society for History and Culture is reprising several of its past exhibits depicting aspects of the history of Andes.  The month of June featured “The Businesses of Andes” which took a look at what was available commercially in the village circa 1890.  July will feature “Andes Interiors”—a photo exhibit of inside views of Andes buildings of yesteryear.  On July 6th, from 1 to 3 pm, there will be a reception and unveiling of a Dowie Mill painting recently donated to the ASHC by Barbara Cole. A concert, Catskill Tales & Tunes with Ira McIntosh, at the Pleasant Valley Meeting House on July 13th at 7 pm. The August exhibit will be “Rest in Peace, the Cemeteries of Andes” which maps out (and shows pictures of) the locations of all known cemeteries and burials within the town of Andes.  In conjunction with this exhibit, there will be a tour of the Andes Cemetery below the village on Sunday afternoon, August 4 starting at 2 pm.  The Hunting Tavern Museum is open Saturdays from 10 am – 3 pm through Columbus Day.~
