From David Capps
I’m happy to send you all a link to the dance film that I’ve been working on for a number of years, shot in Ballantine Park. I made the film as a tribute generally to our beautiful neck of the woods and specifically to George Ballantine’s transformation of a disused swamp into such a lovely art work and park that seems to me like a living Impressionist painting. George often came down to the park and watched from his car as we rehearsed and filmed; he seemed pleased to see what we were doing, which made me glad. I think of the film as a series of portraits of the dancers, the seasons, the landscape, and the spirits that inhabit our cherished hill and streams. I hope very much that it makes our town proud.
