Some nuts appear pale and some are dark brown

The peanut is actually grown underground.

Pistachio spicy, macadamia rare,

the almond grows in the south if you care –

Chestnuts are roasted, and beechnut you chew

Some are just toasted with salt. The cashew

is soft like the pine nut in pesto’s strong flavor

Pecans are sugared on pie tops. We savor

Brazil nuts, walnuts, all variety

even the hazelnut in our coffee.

The coconut’s large and the betel nut small,

But size doesn’t matter, for we know that all

have their own unique cracks and their own special cuts.

in spite of their difference, know they’re just nuts!
