Happy Holidays to everyone in our lovely little hamlet of Andes! May you have joy and good health in the coming year! Speaking of the holidays, the Andes tree lighting ceremony will be Saturday, December 2nd at 4:30. I will have some pre-tree lighting holiday songs in the library and I hear Santa will be making a stop. Please join us in a wonderful community tradition!
NEW HOURS! Starting December 1st, the library board of trustees voted to change our hours on Mondays and Thursdays. (See Box).
NEW COMPUTERS & WIRELESS PRINTING! A big thank you to the O’Connor Foundation for a matching grant to purchase three new patron computers, one volunteer/back-up circulation computer, a wireless printer, scanner, fax, copier and new monitors. As many of our patrons know, our old computers were in self-destruct sequence and were barely operable. We will now have the latest technology for our patrons and visitors, including the ability to print from phones and wireless devices.
Remember that if you would like to receive some free one-on-one or group computer instruction or technical assistance, I am more than willing to make an appointment with you to help you with your technically-challenged needs. I also offer tutoring in resume/cover letter writing, creative writing, and research assistance. Please email me at an.ill@4cls.org or call 845-676-3333.
Unfortunately, we have decided to end our movie licensing and 2nd Thursday movie night. Instead, we have decided to reach out to the filmmaking community and invite regional filmmakers to have public presentations of their work in our library. In addition, we welcome local musicians, artisans, and authors to give performances or presentations about their work. If you or someone you know would like to discuss scheduling an event, please contact me at the above phone or email.
Again, have a wonderful holiday season and remember our holiday book sale in the back room will be ongoing throughout the winter. Five paperbacks for $1 or $ .25 each, three hardcovers for $1 or $ .50 each, and a nice selection of DVDs for $1 each.~
