It’s a beautiful morning, probably the very last of the season, since the weather prediction for the next few days is that a cold front is moving in and with it … SNOW! It’s not that I mind snow, I actually enjoy watching it fall and seeing the changing landscape, as long as I don’t have to drive. It seems to me, that in previous years we dreamed of snow for Thanksgiving and it looks like our wish will come true this year.
I was so happy to have gotten a chance to see the Andes Central School’s production of Mary Poppins, on Saturday, November 5th. The cast was different at each performance and I just want to make sure that the Saturday cast, which included Henry Polen as Michael Banks and Kristanna Hernandez as Jane Banks, are given credit. They were outstanding! Jonathan Andrews, a graduate of ACS, was back doing the small but hilarious part of Miss Andrews (yes, Miss) and Ava McIntosh was a great prima ballerina! The show was marvelous, I especially loved the tap dancing, and I’d like to commend all who participated and those who put the show together. What wonderful talent we have in our small but unique school!
Have you been to Bebert’s Condiments, the tiny gem of a Moroccan Cafe, at 1164 Main Street, in Fleischmanns? It’s open only for lunch, Thursday through Sunday, from 11 to 4. Call before you go (646-979-7798) because I think they will close for the winter, but it’s worth trying, and they sell their own gourmet condiments of preserves and spices that make lovely hostess gifts. They also do catering.
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday; gathered family, delicious food, good memories. Amy, Ian and I will have been at Jeannie’s in Connecticut, enjoying every minute with friends and family. I hope yours was just as wonderful!~
