ACS will open its doors to students for the 2016-17 school year on Tuesday, September 6th.
We have hired Mr. Andrew Amodeo as our new social studies teacher, replacing Ms. Natasha Merritt, who resigned at the end of last year. We have also hired Ms. Nichole Newbold as an LTA in the Pre-K / Kindergarten room to replace Ms. Karli Tait who has moved on to be an elementary teacher at Roxbury Central School and we have hired Ms. Dori Buerge to replace Ms. Mary Lou Matthews, who has retired.
We are eager to host our eighth annual “Evening of Excellence” on Thursday, October 6th, to honor students who maintained an average of 90.0% or higher during the four quarters of the 2015-16 school year. This is always a wonderful evening of celebrating these students and their academic accomplishments from the previous school year.
The Drama Club is planning to present its Fall show on November 4th and 5th. Rehearsals will be starting shortly after school begins. Please look for more information as we move closer to the production dates. Our school has once again merged with South Kortright Central School for our fall soccer and golf and boys’ basketball; all the students continue to do very well with the transition.
We are looking forward to another successful school year at Andes Central School and hope to see you at many of the events hosted at Andes Central School this year.~
