THIS DAY – Excerpts from a poem by George Ballantine – May 2016

This planet Earth, not yet wise, but trusting

revolves around the sun in loving wonder as

men devastate her frail beauty.

The Sun, however, kisses the Earth

and things grow, endowed with spectrums

of color and sound. The dewy feathered creatures

awaken with thankful bliss, mouths open

for morning’s kiss.. It is not man’s right

to tamper but only to partake of this

noble feast…to love one another

and each creature, rock and beast…
