On Friday, November 5 and Saturday, November 6, the Andes Central School Drama Club presented the musical “Oliver.” Judging by the comments we heard, the show was a huge hit, with a packed house both nights. Andes is extremely lucky to have many very talented students as well as many staff and community members who are willing to give up so much of their own time and talents. A huge thank you goes to Eloise Harris, John Bernhardt, Elaine Peck, Lisa Valkavich and Jonathan Andrews for all the time that they gave to direct this amazing performance. Also, a huge thank you to Sharon Tucker, the Drama Club advisor, who also was responsible for most of the props and costumes.
We will once again be hosting our senior citizens for a holiday dinner on Friday, December 4th at 1 pm for any Andes resident age 55 or older. This is a way for us to show our appreciation for all of your support through the years. If you would like to attend the dinner, please call the school and leave us your name so we can be sure and prepare enough food.
Our music department will be presenting winter concerts during December. On Tuesday, December 15th, the high school concert will be held and the elementary concert will take place on Tuesday, December 22nd. Both concerts will take place at 6 pm.
Lastly, as the first academic quarter of the 2015-2016 school year comes to a close, I am happy to share that most of the children in grades 5-12 earned an honor roll designation.~
