The 7th Annual Evening of Excellence was held on Thursday, October 1st. This is to recognize those seniors who maintained an average of 90% or higher during the 2014-15 school year.Evening of Excellence

Fire Department 013Members of the Andes Fire Department came to school on Friday, October 9th to teach children in grades PreK-6 about fire safety and what to do in case there is a fire at home. Thank you to Joe Berghammer, Jason Mondore, Vanna Masterson and Michael Edelson for taking time out of their day to teach us some important information about fire safety.

On Wednesday, October 14th, students in grades Kindergarten – 6th went to New York City to see “Finding Neverland” on Broadway. We chartered a bus from Oneonta Bus Lines and stopped for dinner at the Mid-Hudson Buffet in Kingston. This trip was made possible with funds through Arts in Education. Everyone who attended had a wonderful time.

The ACS Drama Club will be presenting “Oliver” on Friday, November 6 and Saturday, November 7th at 7 pm. Since several of our actors play on the South Kortright soccer teams, the Saturday performance may be changed to a Sunday matinee if the teams do well at sectionals and have games on Saturday. We will keep everyone informed as we get closer.

We will once again be hosting our senior citizens for a holiday dinner on Friday, December 4, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. for any Andes resident age 55 or older. This is a way for us to show our appreciation for all your support through the years. If you would like to attend the dinner, please call the school and leave us your name so we can be sure and prepare enough food.~
