A very grateful hat tip to the extraordinary Andes Post Office personnel for collecting and donating large boxes of much-needed food items to the Food Bank. The rural mail carriers went the extra mile collecting the donations door-to-door. Many Andes postal patrons left donations at the Post Office as well.
Krista Baxter is bringing her 4-H club to the Food Bank for a service project. The 4-H’ers will help with weeding out-dated items, stocking and filling the shelves, and preparing food deliveries. Joi Brundege, the Food Bank coordinator, is organizing this great learning experience.
Many Andes households were pleased to find delicious loaves of banana bread available at the Food Bank this past month. The bread was baked, packaged and labeled with FDA nutrition labels by the ACS CROP program participants. Super bread, friends! w00t w00t!
