I hope you have your calendar handy, as you should jot down the following dates: There’s plenty of fun stuff happening here at the library over the next couple of months.
On Sunday, May 17th, we will be having our annual Open House from 2 to 5, to thank the library’s patrons, donors and volunteers for all the support they give us throughout the year. Without them we would never be able to carry out our mission to serve the Andes community. You can expect all kinds of yummy treats, both sweet and savory, and perhaps some toe-tapping music. Most important is the chance to socialize for a bit with friends and neighbors we’re sometimes too busy to catch up with.
Did the recent bouts of sunshine and hot weather make you think “Ice Cream”? Plans are underway for an ice cream social to be held in Ballantine Park on Sunday, May 24th, as part of the Table of Contents fundraising series. All proceeds will benefit the Andes Public Library. Don’t miss this special treat!
Attention garden aficionados! This year’s Garden Tour is scheduled for Saturday, June 20th from 11 to 4. Dedicated members of the tour committee are planning a selection of sites to include both old favorites and new. What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon viewing gardens large and small, and collecting ideas for your own space!
And if that isn’t enough, all the usual activities will continue: the book group, LitWits, meets on the first Thursday of the month at 5 pm, Movie Night will be on May14th at 7 pm, the Italian Circle will get together at 7 pm on Thursday, May 21st. Dates for Canasta are flexible, so call for more information if you are interested in joining the fun. For those who enjoy any type of needlework, the Stitch Witches gather on the second and fourth Monday of each month from 2-4 pm. ~
