This year has been a fun and exciting time! Tom Joyce spearheaded a new endeavor: preparing healthy snack bags for the youngest students at Andes Central School. Superintendent Dr. Chakar was very supportive and helpful. Helpers from the community found it a fun and satisfying activity, so we continued snack bags for the summer CROP program. We are planning to continue the Healthy Snack Bags Project this fall. We can always use more helping hands, Friday early afternoon. Contact Joi at 676-4753 if you are interested in joining the fun.
The Food Bank is supported by the community. We need fresh produce; donations of non-perishable food are part of the Delaware County Food Bank system. This food bank could help many more people in need, both singles and families. If you are aware of neighbors and friends who could benefit from the program, please encourage them to come to the Food Bank at the Andes Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, 11 am – 1 pm, or Friday, 5-7 pm. Friday evening is staffed by Carol and Jim Barrett. They are very faithful supporters of the Food Bank and perform many extra jobs. Tuesday is staffed by Joi and Wyva Hasselblad. Wyva also is our computer expert. Secretarial duties are graciously handled by Jean Butler. Thank You All!!~
