As we look forward to spring and warmer temperatures, ACS has been busy with many upcoming events. Our next musical, “Just Another High School Musical” (not to be confused with Disney’s “High School Musical”) is scheduled for March 7th & 8th at 7 pm. Please be on the lookout for more information as we get closer to those dates.
In addition, our students are being given another opportunity to see the world. Our Travel Club advisors, Mr. Jeff Rhone and Mr. Ed McGee, along with help from Mrs. Tamara Titch, have organized a wonderful learning opportunity for 9 of our sophomores and juniors to go to Puerto Rico. While there, they will see El Yunque, the country’s National Rainforest; they will go spelunking (cave exploring), visit the Bioluminescent Bay, and spend time on the Island of Culebra. In Culebra, they will visit and snorkel at four different beaches.

Also, our Class of 2014 is in the process of planning its Senior Trip to Maine this coming June. Their class advisor, Ms. Misty LeRoux, has been helping them facilitate this opportunity. They have been working to raise funds since they were seventh graders and are eager for their trip.
Our Academic Team, consisting of Jonathan Andrews, Jennifer Andrews, Josephine DeSanto, Torin Bacon, Cassandra Storey, Belle Bourke, Adriel Grapes and Allison Long, with their advisor, Mr. Alan Seidman, attended the Upstate Academic Competition on Thursday, January 9th. Sixteen teams from Delaware, Chenango and Otsego counties competed. ACS defeated Hancock while falling to Cherry Valley-Springfield and Gilbertsville-Mt. Upton. Our students enjoyed the competition and learned a great deal from the experience.
ACS would like to thank those community members who donated gifts to the Christmas Angel Project this year. This program shows true community spirit and adds to the enchantment of the holidays. We would especially like to thank the Catskill Mountain Classic Car Club and Andes Fire Department for their help in providing gifts for some of our children. ~
