On Saturday, May 11th, the United States Postal Service conducted their annual “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive to collect donations for local food pantries. Here in Andes, Rural Carrier Rodney Weaver and Contractor Walter Ziser amassed an estimated 500 pound of donated foods, which was sent to the Andes Food Bank located at the Presbyterian Church. Upon receiving the delivery, Joi Brundege, manager of the Food Bank stated, “I want to thank the USPS and all of those who were so generous in their contribution.” What a testament to the kindness of the people of Andes and the dedication of our mail carriers.
