Work on the new Primary Care Center on Lower Main Street in Andes is progressing well. The porch and handicap accessible ramp are being built, and siding is being installed. Interior work to install plumbing, electrical systems, flooring and heating is also underway. Bassett Healthcare Network expects to open the doors on its new health center in March. O’Connor Hospital is constructing the 2,800 square foot facility, which will be staffed by Bassett providers.
Dr. Susan Fiore, a well-liked physician who lives in the area, will be the clinic’s medical director. Once the facility opens, she will see patients of all ages Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 am. and 5 pm. Bassett patients with a doctor’s order to have blood drawn will be able to do so at the Andes facility, and physician ordered injections such as B12 will also be handled at the Andes clinic. In addition to Dr. Fiore, the health center in Andes will be staffed by licensed practical nurse Janine Sprague and administrative office assistant Tracey Hood. Rich Morley will be the health center’s manager.
