On Thursday, January 24th an enthusiastic group in the Tavern at the Andes Hotel watched a cooking channel show on the big screen in which Hotel owner and chef, Ed O’Neill, is featured in the culminating episode. Ben Sargent, the host of “Hook, Line & Dinner,” helps Ray Turner, owner of Delaware Delicacies, who lives a reclusive life near Hancock on the Delaware River, rebuild a weir and learn from him how to fish for and smoke eels. After an area search they take their catch to Ed at the Andes Hotel where he prepares a chowder and provencale dish that give eel a broad appeal. Congratulations, Ed, for showing the world how an eel can make a meal! ~
