MOUNTAINEER TRACKS — June 2012

By Robert L. Chakar, Jr., Ed.D., Superintendent of School

acs-schoolAndes Central School has much to be proud of. On Thursday, May 10, the Andes learning community celebrated the entrance of four of our best and brightest young people into the National Honor Society. The 58th Induction ceremony of the NHS ceremony was well-attended and family members enjoyed refreshments after the induction. All our faculty and staff extend congratulations to Jennifer Andrews, Jonathan Andrews, Joshua Harp, and Tristin Tait on this milestone.

On behalf of your Board of Education, we would like to thank the voters of Andes for their ongoing support of our education program.  Supporting and passing our 2012-2013 spending plan will continue to pave the way for your community’s children. The budget that was supported had a reduction in spending from the 2011-2012 school year and a 1.13 tax levy increase.

As we approach our graduation date of Friday, June 22nd at 7:00 pm we note that this ceremony is a milestone. Andes has a very rich history and tradition and this year we are proud to be celebrating our 75th Diamond Anniversary with the graduation of the Class of 2012. We are also planning a reception to celebrate this event on Saturday, June 23rd for all alumni. ~
