September has been a busy month for the Andes Senior Club. On September 12, Betty Little, Mary Tucker, Marie Gladstone and Sandy Wynn went to the Annual Delaware County Senior Council dinner and meeting at the Hidden Inn in South Kortright. Dr. Ken Penny of Delhi received the Senior Citizen of the Year Award and Helen Surry, from Colchester, received the Outstanding Senior Citizen Award.
We met at the Andes Methodist Church on September 15, with Joi Brundege and Marga Liddle as hosts. Officers elected for the 2011-2012 year are President, Jane Berghammer; Vice President, Bill Elwood; Trip Coordinator, Fred Berghammer; Secretary, Mary Tucker; Senior Council Representatives: Betty Little, Mary Tucker, and Gerald Norris. We decided on having a local outing, perhaps seeing Cinderella at the college in Oneonta, and having a regular bus trip in the spring or early summer.
Take note: The October 20th meeting will be at the Andes Fire Hall with Betty Little and Bill Elwood at hosts. If you are new in the community, we would be pleased to see you at our meetings.~
