CROP STUDENTS BAKE FOR A CAUSE

Baking the bread at ACS

The ACS CROP after-school children bake 10 loaves of banana bread every Monday afternoon. On Tuesday mornings they deliver them to the Andes Food Bank across the street to be given to families in need.

The ingredients are purchased using a service learning grant from the DCMO BOCES Learn and Serve Program. They require a lower fat recipe and that the ingredients and nutrition information be included with each loaf. ACS CROP has donated 56 loaves of bread to the food bank this year and plan to donate another 24 loaves before the end of the school year. ~
