As we approach spring school budget vote, the Andes community is well aware of the difficult times that are being experienced around the State.  This current fiscal situation is being weathered by the Andes school by having put together a responsive and responsible budget for the 2010-2011 school year.  While the spending variable has been the constant measured conservative number that we can control, we have little control of the revenue side of the equation.

Facing a State Aid reduction of $100,000, your Board charged the administration with developing a budget that capped proposed increases in the tax levy at two percent.  We have met that challenge.  After months of exhausting and careful analysis of every facet of our budget, the board accepted a spending plan that increased expenditures by only $46,418.00 or 1.26 percent; which translates to an increased tax levy of 1.78 percent.
