As we approach spring, a lot of wonderful happenings are occurring at Andes. Our Talent Show held on Friday, March 5th was a fabulous presentation of the talents of our children, faculty, and community members. The production took months in the making under the leadership of Ms Tamara Snyder and Ms Janice Armstrong who oversaw the production. The show even brought back an Andes favorite, retired superintendent Mr. John Bernhardt, as a celebrity scorer for the show.
In addition, during the week of March 8th Andes recognized almost half our student body in grades 5-12 who attained academic excellence at different levels. Our students earned honors, high honors, and superintendent level recognition by achieving between an 85-89, 90-94.9 and a 95 or better. This was truly a wonderful assembly. Students were once again presented certificates and an ice cream voucher. New for the second quarter was the “Pizza Pal Prize.” The student with the highest grade point average (G.P.A.) earned a free pizza to be shared with his/her friend.
Lastly, as Andes moves through the month of March and into April, the Board will be working diligently in preparing a budget for the community to vote on in May~
