On a crisp Tuesday morning in December, the Andes Central School District, its Board of Education President Mr. John Hopkins, its faculty, students, and community members gathered outside to witness a long awaited Ribbon Cutting ceremony. The Capital Project that has had its roots dating back almost ten years was finally spearheaded and supported by recently retired Superintendent John Bernhardt during his tenure. The District’s Clerk of the Works, Mr. Tom Little, and the current Superintendent, Dr. Robert Chakar, oversaw the final stages of the project.

The ceremony was well attended and included a tour of the new locker rooms and the adjacent entrance. Mr. Bernhardt, Dr. Chakar and Mr. Hopkins provided words of wisdom.
Students, faculty and community members were treated to coffee and pastries as they toured the new facility. The addition has been a welcome and long overdue addition. Andes would like to extend an invitation to anyone who would like a tour to come by the Main Office at ACS. ~
