There will be a Public Hearing on the 2010 budget on Wednesday,, November 4th beginning at 7:30 pm at the Town Hall.
A Note From Meg Hungerford of Kortright Creek Financial which handles the Town’s bookkeeping services:
Despite cost increases, we’ve decreased the overall general and highway budgets but the town has experienced decreases in mortgage tax and interest earnings revenues and increases in several expense areas such as union contracts, health insurance and retirement costs.
All levels of Town government have cooperated to control costs in order to limit the increase to the taxpayer for the next budget year. Despite these efforts and because of decreased revenues and cost increases beyond our control there will be an increase in the amount raised by taxes of approximately 4.6%.
The next Town Board meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 10th at the Town Hall. Please note that the meeting will begin at 12:30 pm, as it will for the next 6 months. There will be a public hearing on Senior Housing at 12 noon before the November meeting.
Construction of the new town garage is underway.
Don’t forget to get out and vote. Election Day is Tuesday, November 3rd.
