IMAGERY FROM A GARDEN – August 2009

By Gloria Carlson

Imagine a garden with vistas that lead the eye toward distant ponds with graceful willows bending and swaying over gently rippling water. Encircling the ponds are reeds and irises and as my friend and I walked closer, we saw colorful carp flashing by in the water. Disturbed, the red winged blackbirds protested as they burst out of their quiet nesting spots. In the far distance are mountain, hills and valleys with tumbling clouds overhead. Strolling about on the winding stone pathways, we saw other views. Grey stone walls are arranged so that they perfectly frame trees and colorful flower gardens. As we sat on a stone bench looking out over this extraordinary garden we thanked Charles and Cynthia Bonnes for creating this lovely, peaceful place and allowing us to share in it. ~
