The Board of Education of the Andes Central School has selected Dr. Robert L. Chakar  as the new superintendent of Andes Central School. Dr. Chakar has been the principal at Woodlands Junior/Senior High School in the Greenburgh Central School District #7 in Hartsdale since 2005. Prior to his work at Greenburgh, Chakar served as a high school principal at Bellport Senior High School in the South Country Central School District and as a middle school principal in Liberty. Dr. Chakar has a background in Reading and Language Arts and Elementary Education with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Central Connecticut State University, and a Masters of Science in Reading and Language Arts from the same university. Chakar earned his Ed.D. at the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut. ~
