April 16: What a nice, warm, sunny day to go to a meeting. Many members of the Andes Senior Citizens Club turned out for our April meeting. The program, after the usual tasty lunch, was a talk given by Teri Stratford from Walton. She introduced us to an innovative practice called permaculture that renews soil, forests, unused land and unusable land. In this way nature, instead of technology, is used to produce food, energy, and shelter. Use of oil and gas is drastically cut back and decreases the world’s dependence on oil. For more detailed information contact Ms. Stratford at 607-865–7889 or by email tsstrat@sixcats.net.
