At the October 14th Town Board meeting, the 2009 Town Budget was adopted. Total of the General and Highway budgets is $1,582,758.Also at the meeting, Supervisor Donnelly reported that the USDA has acknowledged receipt of our Highway Garage loan & grant application and Congresswoman Gillibrand and staff are trying hard to help Andes with FEMA.
Town Clerk Jacques reminded all that Tuesday, November 4th is election day. Voting is from 6 am until 9 pm. A new voting machine will be placed at the District #1 voting location at 580 Main Street (the Andes Town Court.) District #2 voting will be at the Rod & Gun Club on County Highway 1.
After surveying the devastation caused by flooding on Barkaboom and Beech Hill Roads with Highway Superintendant McAdams, Ms Jacques stated, “If you do not live on one of those two roads, consider yourself lucky.”
REMINDER: Starting with the November 11th meeting, Town Board meetings will commence at 12:30 pm (through April, as per Resolution).
