The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is offering a Hunter Education course in Margaretville in preparation for this year’s hunting season. The two-session course will begin on Friday, September 12 from 5:30 until 9:30 PM and will continue on Saturday, September 13 from 8 AM until 5 PM. Participants must be at least 11 years old to attend this free class which will be held at the Margaretville American Legion Hall.
Pre-registration is required and should be done in person before September 6th at Del-Sports, 817 Main Street in Margaretville. You will receive a manual which must be read before the class.

All new hunters/bowhunters/trappers must receive training before receiving their first license. Students must attend all sessions, demonstrate proper attitude and safety, and pass the test.
