By Jan StevensACS students in grades 10-12 are excited to once again have the opportunity to visit Puerto Rico, where they will visit places like Bioluminescent Bay, Culebra Island and the city of Old San Juan. They will kayak their way through iguana-filled mangroves and enter a large bay filled with small glow-in-the-dark creatures. They will also snorkel off the coast of the small island of Culebra and discover an underwater world filled with multicolored fish and many different types of coral. In Old San Juan, they will visit “El Morro”, a sixteenth century fortress.
In order for this wonderful opportunity to take place, they need your support. The Travel Club will be holding an “All-All-American Meal” on Saturday, February 16th in the ACS gymnasium. Rosalie Glauser, from the Slow Down Café, will be preparing food and donating it for the dinner. Rosalie will be making her famous garlic mashed potatoes to accompany the meal. The price for this dinner has not yet been determined, but there will be advertisements in the Catskill Mountain News and The Daily Star when we get closer to the date of the dinner. Stay posted!! We hope to see you all there, and know you won’t be disappointed. ~
