Seniors enjoy the meal and entertainment

Andes Central School staff and students hosted the Senior Citizen’s Christmas dinner on Thursday, December 6th. High School students greeted guests, served dinner and cleared tables efficiently and politely. Tables were set with placemats and favors made in art classes and CROP did the centerpieces. Susie Little had her Pre-K and Kindergarten kids sing tunes they learned in their classroom. Sandy Reynolds, the music director, and the elementary school students provided entertainment. The first, second and third grade chorus sang familiar Christmas carols. The fourth, fifth and sixth graders played a new instrument, the Orf, created by Carl Orf. It resembles a xylophone. The orfs have a soft, mellow, bell-like sound, with each having a slightly different tone. They played and sang an old English carol, Ding Dong, Merrily on High.On behalf of all who attended, many thanks to everyone at ACS for a lovely afternoon. ~
