By Gloria CarlsonWe at the Andes Public Library wish all our patrons and friends near and far, a happy and healthy 2008. The Andes Public Library is looking forward to an exciting year with interesting and fun programs for young and old, as well as continuing our usual internet, fax and photocopying services, interlibrary loans and of course the latest in books and DVDs.
In the New Year, however, there will be a new face behind the librarian’s desk. The Andes Library is in the process of hiring a new director* to take my place. I have come to the difficult decision that due to health considerations I can no longer fill the job of director with the kind of energy and vitality that the job requires and deserves. It has been my great privilege and pleasure to serve as the Andes Library Director for the past five years. I thank you all for your support and kindness to me during that time. I will continue to work at the library but with fewer hours and different responsibilities. I enjoy my work at the Andes Library enormously and I look forward to serving the Andes Library community and to being part of the Library’s exciting future.
* BREAKING NEWS: We are happy to announce that Valerie Brown, who lives just outside of Fleischmanns, has been hired as the new director of the Andes Public Library. If you get a chance, stop by and welcome her. ~
