Now that June is here, the Andes Library is heating up for another great summer of activities, events and of course great reading.
If you haven’t already heard, the Andes Library is creating a cookbook as a fundraiser for the library’s long dreamed of expansion project. The Cookbook Committee welcome all original recipes or adaptations of those found in cookbooks and of course, tested in your kitchen. We are hoping that this cookbook will represent the many faces of our Andes Library patrons and offer a tasty selection of Catskill/ Andes special dishes, ethnic recipes, natural foods for healthy eating and /or recipes for quick and easy meals. You can either drop off your recipes at the library or e-mail them to Rima Walker our cookbook coordinator at rima@catskill.net.
In addition to our planned cookbook, the library’s other fundraising efforts include beautiful note cards on sale for 12 cards for $10, and our terrific Andes Library totebag, which sells for $15.00. We also have an on-going Book Sale on the Library porch. (We thank all our generous patrons for donating the books that have made our book sales so successful.) All monies received will be used for the Andes Library Expansion Project and are very gratefully accepted!
On Monday mornings, for the last six months, the Andes Library has been very fortunate to have had the services of talented storyteller David Cyrelson and his children’s program “Tales for Tots. David’s program will be ending for the summer months and will be re-opening after Labor Day. We at the Andes Library wish to wholeheartedly thank David for his generosity in offering his program to the families of Andes and we look forward to seeing him again in the fall. ~
