The 25th annual Iva Terry Andes Invitational Golf Tournament will be held at the Delhi College Golf Course on Sunday, August 20th. The tournament is open, by invitation, to anyone who has lived or worked in Andes, their family and friends. The tournament format is a four person Captain and Crew with a shotgun start promptly at 12:30 pm. Tournament registration begins at 10 am. Early registration is advised to avoid any delay on the day of the tournament. There will be free use of the driving range for registered participants to sharpen their game. This year, following golf, an awards dinner will be held at The Andes Hotel. The traditional ‘dish to pass’ will be appreciated to complement the delicious food and drink supplied by the tournament. As a result of last year’s participation, the tournament generated more than $1000 in college scholarships for Andes residents. This includes $500 for the Richard E. Cole scholarship created by the tournament and a contribution to Andes Dollars for Scholars. In addition, the scholarship program to aid non-traditional students re-entering higher education has been continued.Application for the tournament can be made to Brad Anderson at the Andes branch of the National Bank of Delaware County or call Judd Maze at 845 676-3346. Family teams are given special consideration. This is Andes’ biggest participation event of the year. The number of entries will be limited so register early. This is an “Andes must.”
