We are in the process of starting a Great Books Reading and Discussion Program at the Andes Library.

Fifty years ago the University of Chicago, under Robert M. Hutchins, started this program and there are now about 800 such groups in the United States. A team of leading scholars in classics, philosophy and literature select the material for monthly reading. The selection is usually about fifty pages long. The Great Books Foundation provides literature and discussion guides at low cost.

We will call you with a date for the first meeting. Those who have participated in this program previously are welcome to help us form our new organization.
