The gurgling of Bryants Brook keeps time with my steps along Route 28, or maybe it’s the other way around: I keep time with the water tumbling over the rocks. I love this walk.

Summer is almost over. The Joe-Pye Weed is nearing its end but there are still lots of flowers in the pink to purple colors. One of the prettiest at this time is Purple Loosestrife that grows in spikes

It’s the middle of February as I’m thinking of March in the garden. The wind is howling and snow is falling lightly but the thought of March coming soon lifts my spirits and I begin to think SPRING!

December was a month of three seasons; it started with unseasonably warm weather, followed by pouring rains and overflowing streams, and then, a sudden drop in temperature turned the rain to snow overnight.
